About the Congreve Clock
“The Congreve clock was invented in 1808 by William Congreve. I decided to build this clock because it is quite fascinating to watch and a beautiful-looking clock. The three dials read from left to right- the first is the hour, the centre is the minutes and then the seconds. Although this is a fine precision hand-made clock it must be understood it is not the most accurate as it is affected by humidity and other atmospheric changes. Nevertheless, it retains a perfectly acceptable accuracy variation within 15 minutes per day.”
